God, I am so anxious about starting my counselling. I have a trainee therapist which I am slightly annoyed at (i know they have to start somewhere!) but I've had a trainee social worker who was appalling and the officer in charge of my Husbands case was brand new to the job and hadn't long been promoted and he was her first sting in a new unit!!!!

I just know I am going to spend the session crying =(

Wishing you all the best for your session today. The first one is always the hardest. The most important thing is you click with the therapist on a personal level. So they can hold your big feelings.

a good cry is always a good thing xxx

Hi KLK

I'd be really surprised if you didn't cry, it's a really emotional time, and I agree with poster, I think trainee could be a good thing, they won't be so jaded!

I hope it goes well and you click with them

Take care xx

Good luck today. First session can be the hardest. You may feel a bit worse after it as all th "boxes" have been opened but after a few you will be lighter.

My therapy ended today. 4 years in, she's retiring and I feel in a much better place. It takes time but you'll get there, promise!

Hi klk,

I agree with poster regarding your Councillor. I'm only on session 3 & found that one the hardest as I'm getting deeper into it. It made me feel better but washed out also.

Hope it went well for you. As it's Fri treat yourself to whatever you fancy. You deserve it.

Sorry ladies, I can't get the forum on my phone and have only had access today since posting.

I don't know how it went to be fair, she just said I have read your referral, want to tell me more? and then I cried and spoke about everything in no order or sense and then it was over!!! I have my next appointment on the 5th April as I am in hospital next week for a hysterectomy. Do they start asking stuff or advising at any point or do I just talk?!!
