Hi Chelsea 1

yes it is posible to changes jobs while under RUI and there is no legal requirement to inform your employer that a person is under RUI.

any basic and standard dbs will make no reference to the investigation

just stay away from roles that require an enhanced dbs as the RUI and investigation could be disclosed on the back under police information.

hope this helps

My partner got a new job whilst under investigation as he was fired from the one he had when arrested.

Also be mindful of jobs with contracts that say that he will need to disclose if sentenced. Once my partner was sentenced he didn't need to tell his work

My partner got a job after sentencing because they never asked for convictions thankfully. He works for a small company, probably the best bet since bigger companies and organisations wi likely ask

Hiya.

After much thought. He has decided to take a year out of working and chill and take everything in.

Maybe the right job will come along without a enhanced check we shall see.

Hi Chelsea 1

that is understandable, do remember that the majority of jobs and roles in England and Wales come under the rehabilitation of offenders act and only require a basic dbs if one was undertaken

unlock have a good A to Z guide on there site of diffrent job sectors and the level of dbs that would be undertaken

Hi Chelsea1

Yes a basic DBS picks up unspent convictions only, it does not show any active investigations or any thing about someone being on bail or RUI, so until a person has a conviction nothing about the ongoing investigation will show.

It's also important to note that there is no legal requirement for employers that employ for jobs that come under the rehabilitation of offenders act to do a basic DBS, it is at there discretion, sadly as we are so risk avert in this country most employers as part of there recruitment will undertake a basic DBS, but there are many companies out there that do not do it as they cant afford the expenses.

Hiya Notalone.

So basically maybe wait until his convictions are spent and then they will be nothing showing.

Told hubby and in 2 minds either wait until convictions are spent or go for a job which don't need a DBS check.

Thank you x
