Hi SadMum,

Sorry you're having to go through this. I spoke with a solicitor in regards to getting one privately and he advised me my partner may be entitled to legal aid dependant on income so I assume it's the amount of money you bring in. I asked if my income would be an issue because I earn quite a lot more than my partner but he said no because we're not married so I assume they will only care about your son's actual income. Some solicitors offer legal aid so shop about and make sure you get the right solicitor for your son even with legal aid.

xx

Your son may be able to claim benefit if he is unfit for work. Maybe have a chat with the GP. S/he may also be able to suggest some mental health support, online programmes and/or medications if appropriate. Unfortunately support services for folks with Aspergers or other forms of autism seem to be thin on the ground; you are probably already aware of what is or is not available in your area.

Kind regards.
