Hi everyone,

It's been a long time since I posted in here but I now don't know where to turn to.

My husband was convicted a few years ago. He's done his time with ihorizon, probation, community hours etc and only has a year left on his shpo and on the register.

My family has grown since everything happened and my husband is now back home living with us.

My dilema is that we desperately need to move to a bigger property. Weve been offered two properties now and both have been taken away again because of his conviction!! I have a teenager who needs his own room, a middle child with challenging behavior and a baby! Everyone of the professionals know we need these properties but it's the police that are saying he cant move to these properties because there are children around. He lives with children for goodness sake!!!!! He hasn't reoffended either!! I don't know where else we can go from here? Has anyone got any ideas? Or know where I can put in a complaint??

I really hope someone can give me some guidance

From a very upset mummy and wife right now

Hi lee1969,

Yes , it's a housing association. We've been through all of the checks and the housing officer wanted to talk with my husband's police community officer. This man came to my home today and has said because there are children around we can't move there. Apparently his police community officer has spoken to his superior and he has also said we're not allowed to have it.

I've put in a complaint to the police via an online form. I don't know where it's going to get me but I need to do something!

My husband is now at that point of ending his life which I can't deal with.

We're not with ss or probation anymore. He's completed all of his conditions.

You're right, they do have a duty of care to us all, wherever we live, there will be children! If the lff inform course taught me anything is that the people with this conviction still have to live! They can't be penalized for the rest of their lives. That's why people reoffend! I will look into the other organizations you have mentioned.

Thank you so much!
