Confirmed after 2 cancellations. Just hoping for fairness and the chance to close this 18 month chapter of uncertainty.

Thanks all. Feeling so anxious. I just keep over the conversation I'll have with my children if he receives a custodial. Will update when I can.

Wishing for the best outcome for you tomorrow! Ours is just over a week and each day I'm getting more anxious, can't imagine if it's postponed. My greatest worry too is the potential conversation with the children.
Will be thinking of you tomorrow x

So so harsh. Very unexpected. I've told my girls. Absolutely heartbreaking task. Today it's a year, tomorrow it's less than a year.

It'll settle, I hope. Today has to be the worst day surely?! Rock bottom and time to rebuild.

Yes. I don't understand..I think there were six on total actually. All class c though. The judge wasn't happy with the distribution. Didn't bother reading supporting letters. Whole system needs a rethink.

Just shows you how bad the whole system is.His life and that of all his family (including the children) will suffer. He will perhaps have a problem finding work after prison. The family may well have to become dependent on benefits and maybe worst of all,the children (who this system is supposed to protect) will be having who knows how many adverse childhood experiences which can be devastaing for them (search for it).

You have to ask yourself how this helps this country.

And yet those who could change it i.e MPs,the legal profession, the police and others sit back preening themselves on what a good job they are doing in "stopping it" when in fact they are doing nothing of the sort as the figures prove.

Someone needs to put their head above the parapet and start a sensible conversation as to how to do this, but I am not holding my breath.Again,I am not sure they will allow this to be posted.

Sarah?? I'm a week down the line from you. We were told he would more than likely get a suspended sentence, however the judge "needed to make an example" out of him!,

It's absolutely soul-destroying isn't it, almost like grieving the loss of your partner. My husband got 3 years for communication with police decoys (no arrangement to meet or anything), he has already been told that he will be out by next December at the latest. I know that's still a whole year of not having him at home, but 1 year is significantly better than 3.

Each day that goes by will get that little bit easier (or so I'm hoping). Stay strong for your family and reach out for help if you need it xx

Mw,

I'm hoping it gets easier. There's been no communication over the weekend. I called the holding prison they said realistically it'll be Wednesday earliest. He's not even had a reception phonecall.

Probation told us community, solicitors thought suspended at worst. What's the point in all of these things being in place if ultimately its down to one person. Magistrates have 2/3 people making a decision. Why are crown court so special?

It's in the press but honestly I couldn't care less. I'm cracking on with parenting my girls.

Just want to hear from him.

He'll be in a year. Then one year on license. I've bought my eldest a countdown calendar.

I'm suprised you haven't heard anything to be honest they are usually prompt with phone calls. My boy has been to three different prisons and made calls on the same day.

But then again - as been said before - each prison is different. Let's hope he will call soon, completely understand your anxiety it's horrible waiting for the phone to ring x
