We're 9 months post knock. My partner hasn't lived with us since that day.

The police have his new address which is an hour from where I live.

I'm so worried about my address being the address reported if it goes to press. We have separated and it's only me and my children it would affect.

I daren't ask the police or anyone for fear of highlighting my worries.

One of my children is almost ready for high school and even though their Dad is completely separate from their school lives and friends etc. I'm so worried for the future.

I was just hoping if anyone had been in a similar situation they'd be able to offer any advise.

Hello,

I've been through this recently. 2 articles one printed my address the other his new address. I contacted the paper with my address on and they amended it instantly. There are guidelines which press follow - impress or editors code usually. Just quote an appropriate part regarding children and they'll more than often change it.

To be honest the thought of it being in the media for me was far worse.

Thank you so much for replying.

That's good to know about contacting the press should they print my address, thank you.
I'm glad you were able to have yours amended.

And thank you Dawn, trying to not get hopes up but good to hear that you had a positive outcome on that front. (If there are any positives to this..!)

Hi Lee,

thanks so much for that advise. I'm worried by asking them not to, they may deliberately read it out.
but I suppose I have no other choice but to try and prevent it from happening.

We asked the barrister to request the address wasn't read out because of the children, initially she told me 'oh don't worry they won't read it out' I told her I'd heard of cases where it is so could we just make the request anyway. It wasn't read out so definitely worth asking.

Your husband's current address will be read out in court, that will be the address that is reported on. I know from bitter experience, my entire address was printed in a local paper (much to the delight of my ****hole neighbour). Try not to worry xx

We were told certain details of 'public interest' could be in the media, not our address. But yes there it was radio, newspapers you name it, but must point out he did live with us....
