Hi everyone,

8 weeks since my husband got arrested for sharing 1 video on the dreaded kik app my husband is coming home! I have chosen to forgive him as we try to move on with this and try and continue as a family with my 7 month old. He is currently receiving counselling amongst other things.

I completed safeguarding courses, courses I could find online, and filled in a family protection plan and my SW was blown away by what I had done. I would like to thank everyone here that helped and me searching all the time from people that had posted previously.

I know this is just one small step out of the whole journey but for me having him home was so important.

she said it would take another week before the plan would be put in place for me to become supervisor, but she said we would have a family meeting possibly online that would involve my husbands parents and my own and I'm guessing someone from SS? Has anyone had this before and could tell me what it involves?

Thank you

Hi

Congratulatuons! You must be very happy! My hubby is also at home as he was arrested in May and our daughter was born in September and through work we did he was allowed to stay home with a safety plan. We are still waiting for any news from the police so could be like this for a while.

The family meeting for us was to get all the people who would help you together to make sure they know the safety plan and what that looks like. It makes sure they know of the offences and know why there needs to be a safety plan in place. So for us I shared the plan with the people who were going to be on the call before the meeting to make sure they were aware. Our meeting lasted 12 minutes exactly lol. The SW should also ask if there is anything the family would like to add to the safety plan - such as what support they will give you which can be anything from baby siting to calling and checking up on you ect ect.
