Evening all
I am looking to do a character reference for my son ( I could never of imagined in my life I would need to) just looking for some advise on what information is needed? Do I mention the impact to the victims? I know not to say about the sentance, where do I even begin? any help would be really welcomed xx

I would include the characteristics that describe your son, if anything contributed to why this has happened, the remorse he has shown, any support/courses he is doing or has done with LFF or other services. The affect this has had on your son and you/family.
Any other sources that can write a reference for your son would also be good to do as well. Such as other family members, employer/college, a good friend.
I hope this information is of some help to you.

Thank you so much after the initial knock he spoke to the stop it now people several times and they recommend a therapist who was conducting weekly therapy with my son his solicitor appointed a physiotherapist to do an evaluation report it's so bloomin difficult it's taken its toll on us all xx
Hi Ladies
I am just beginning to draft a statement for my husband's day in court (still no date but solicitor feels it will now be quite soon) and Stop It Now staff are willing to give some advice if needed about what sort of thing is usually included. Ultimately of course , as Lee mentioned, it is an opportunity for our voices to be heard and for the Court to have a better picture of the person in front of them.
I have completed many reports and statements for courts and other agencies during my career but, like everyone who comes here, I never anticipated doing this for my loved one, and it will likely be the hardest statement I'll ever have to write.
