Hello everyone,

I have mentioned to my mum about moving in with my partner and it didn't go well but now I'm at a standstill because I still want to move out. But I need advice to bring it up again as I start working from home 5 days a week next week and all my work stuff is at my partners house so it works out better to live at my partners please help me I have anxiety for this and I'm scared of how my family will react, I feel so down when I leave my partners to come back to my mums but I am so happy with my partner. I need to do what makes me happy but my personality is stopping me ????

Dear Lish97,

Thank you for posting on the Family and Friends forum, we understand that it is not easy to post on a forum about these difficult situations. I can see that you have not yet had a reply on your post, hopefully someone else in a similar situation can reply soon with some support.

It is evident that you are finding the current situation hard, with this in mind I suggest that, you take some time to look after yourself. This could be simple self-care activities such as going on a walk alone or engaging in a hobby you enjoy. It is important that you take care of yourself at this difficult time. I would also encourage you to contact our Stop it Now! helpline. The helpline is anonymous, confidential and free, on 0808 1000 900. One of our trained advisors will then be able to explore your situation in detail and provide some support. Our trained advisors deal with similar concerns to yours every day, and will be able to talk these through with you and offer you the best advice we can.

I hope this has been helpful.

Take care,

Lucy

Hi Lish, I'm not sure if you have been able to see a therapist? After 9 months of therapy I feel really strong and resolved around the difficult and unique path I will follow. Although family support is important to me they know that what I need is support without the judgement. I feel like you need to talk about your decisions and feelings around this with a professional whose job it is to hold space rather than judge...
