Where do I go to get counselling for this stuff ?
I need it for myself to deal with what partner has done to our family, but also would like it for me and partner regardless of whether we have a future or not (although not looking likely)
im struggling

Hi Jayjay, it is so hard and counselling is definitely a good option for self care.
If you call the Lucy Faithful helpline I believe they can support with this.
You can also look up STOPSO and get in touch with them. They have lists of practitioners who are experienced in supporting those impacted by sexual offences - victims, offenders and family members. Unfortunately they are expensive but there may be some funding available depending on your financial situation. You would have to ask them about this.
You can also ask your GP to refer you for counselling if paying for private support is not possible. Unfortunately there are long waiting lists though. You may be able to get a referral through your child's school to services they have access to or via social services. Again its possible (likely!) There will be waiting lists but they may be shorter than through the GP.
Using a counsellor who does not specify in this area can result in lack of understanding or judgemental attitudes in some cases that I've seen on here so that's something to be aware of. X

You may also be interested in the inform course, there is one for family and friends and another for offenders. The offenders one has to be paid for but I believe the family and friends course is donation based.

Has anyone here done the inform course and can tell me more about it?
Hi bitterbean,
You do not have to worry about things like that, it's a very good course love it is very understand, it definitely does not judge the men as being really bad people, it's so understanding, it was the best thing I ever did, it helped me understand better, it certainly does NOT VIEW THEM like ss view them they are so understanding.
