Thank you to everyone who told me to nag for my minutes. You've probably just saved me and my husband big time. Our meeting was on the 17/11 and after much nagging I received them yesterday with a massive error that could do alot of damage. On our meeting we was asked to put a number for what risk we believe our kids are in. 1 being high and 10 being low, I picked 8/9 and my husband picked 10 (I done that as need to show I'm being serious about the risk, but trust my husband 100%) when I've looked at the minutes the scale has been changed around and now they have on paper me and my husband saying there is a high risk In out home. I'm devastated. I've wrote a statement with my husband that has been witnessed declaring this wasn't true and am going to be addressing this issue with my SW and the safeguarding teachers who was present on that meeting too hoping they also back me up. I dread to think the damage that could've done if I never received my minutes.

This was definitely a cin meeting on teams with the sw and the safeguarding teachers from my children's school. All the paperwork says cin. It's in the other relevant information. The safeguarding teacher also said she was happy with what we was doing and thought the risk was 8 but the scale on the paper work isn't what we was told when we asked. Everyone on the meeting was asked what they'd score the risk as. I shall be asking for it to be changed as I don't want anyone to think we don't think our home is safe for our kids. It's took ages to get the paperwork and starting to wonder if this is why.

Hi Mumof3girls,

I'm so pleased you chased them and got the paperwork. It's not surprising that they have changed things and you are miss quoted. The exact same thing happened to me and I did the same as you, I asked the head teacher what she heard and she agreed with me and then I sent an email explaining that it was incorrect and that I'd spoken to the head to confirm.

Yeah there was no scoring line on this paperwork this was added in the others section. This whole process is difficult enough without them changing everything we say. She also documented that we said he didn't have an addiction to porn even though we both said he did. She obviously only hears what she wants to hear.

Thanks Hun, it was the safeguarding teacher who asked if she was doing the scoring system and the sw agreed. We was told 10 was low risk and the safeguarding teacher gave us 8 and sw gave us 7. I thought it was odd to ask us and I fealt extremely uncomfortable doing it. Just more annoyed how it got turned around and now we look like we've said it a high risk.

We score regularly on a cin plan. It depends on your local authority. Mine is big on scoring everything whether cp or not.

Make sure you submit it and request amendments. They may just place your letter on case file and do nothing on the plan otherwise.

Scaling questions are used widely from early help to cp. They use them to measure progress. Have a look into Signs of Safety if anyone is interested in the background.

I will send her an email and ask for the corrections to be made. Would I be best to copy in the safeguarding teacher who was also present on the meeting as well or should I just leave it me and the social worker?

i found being asked this very difficult. i didnt want my husband to think i didnt trust him but also needed to show social worker that i was aware of any risks that are there. I think we all go through enough without putting us in awkward situations like this as well.

I'd copy everyone in personally! Especially if they are able to witness your claims.

R.e. scoring. I'm a fan of it. Maybe that's because I've worked in the field for years. It's a good discussion tool if used properly. I don't just mean as a token at the end of a meeting. It can create chances to talk about why you scored for example 4, what a 5,6 or 7 looks like and how to get there. Properly embedded in practice it's really useful. I'm not sure how else they'd measure worry if they removed scaling.

I was on a CPP for 9 months and and a CIN plan for 7 months and we done the scoring in both meetings even me and my childrens farther so it's definitely a thing for everyone to do the scoring.

Hi,

I have been on cpp and currently in Cin and we have never done a scoring in any of out meetings, and agree with Lee as no one in our meetings not even the sw knows my husband they don't get to no ur families at all, they rock up once a month for 10 mins at most, she has hardly spoke to my hubby when he was there and very rarely acknowledged my mum who had to supervise, so how can then score.
