I know he did wrong but the son I raised is a good person but he got lost in an addiction because he thought so little of himself it's not an excuse but talking to him the young man who has committed this is not the young man I know and love it's just so sad and heartbreaking xx

Smile.on remand its shit but on a safe wing just want the sentancing to come he has lost so much already but it will be in the media and will loose more but he is stuck with me and his sister but I am not.sure that will be enough to keep him going xx

Unfortunately it's us on the outside that are left to face up to the media when in custody then beginning a sentence. I doubt my son has read the article on him.
All I can say is 'upset' this time is horrible as you are in limbo with your life, I can well understand your desperation. Come February you will know what you have to face and (I did) get almost a sense of relief as you put this nasty waiting experience behind you.
Prison is nothing like on these tv dramas. The sentence is focussed on rehabilitation and gaining confidence. All I can say the regime is very slow - appointments can be cancelled with no explanation and Covid restrictions don't help! It's took a year but now my son has begun an education programme and waiting to start another, I can sense growing strength in him..... he always says he 'feels safe now'.
So deep breaths 'upset' big hug and keep it up, your doing great, although you might not think it x
