Hello all.

So hubby is awaiting news now from cps on charges and still suspended from work.

He had the volunteer interview and found 48 images across all settings. No chats or distribution.

He is hard working and honest( which I thought).

He is worried that he won't find employment.

Has anybody else's other halves found employment after going through all this.

((Hugs)) to all xx

Hi Chelsea

Work is not just for money is it? It is a source of meaningful occupation and contributes to a feeling of self worth. My husband lost his job but amazingly an ex manager who knew about his situation offered him some part time work. This really improved my husband's mental health.

Sometimes finding a new job is not that easy but organisations such as Unlock and Nacro can help. They have info about employers sympathetic to those with convictions and a Probation Officer or Criminal Justice social worker can also help after sentencing. And not every employer asks about criminal records, it just depends on what you are applying for.

I am sure others on the forum will be able to suggest other avenues but just to say that opportunities sometimes arise from a crisis so your husband, though he is in a dark place just now, should not lose hope. Do encourage him to find some unbiased emotional support if possible, a safe space where he can express his feelings and explore ways forward for himself.

Take care.

Hello Judith.

Thank you for your reply.

I think with hubby is that he has been employed all his life and for him not to work will be like. No more work.

I know we are thinking ahead and have taken lots of wonderful advice from these forums.

Yes he knows he won't be able to do the same kind of work and will have to be careful with checks etc.

Thank you x

Part of probation is to offer help in getting employment. But my partner was able to do it himself.

Best advice I can give is try to avoid jobs where it is likely they will ask for conviction info and/or DBS checks. My partner has a well paid job in his field he studied and they never asked about convictions.
