SS have visited this morning. They have contacted the children's dad and advised he returns them to my care. So huge relief here as he's listened.

She has told me to expect the case to escalate to child protection plan when my partner is released from prison (currently on recall for GBH charge) and the situation is reassessed.

We are currently on Child in need plan.. so what im asking is what exactly is this?? And what's what's difference between the 2 different plans? X

Hi,

In my experience there aren't huge differences. Cin plans can drag as there isn't as much robust legislation on timescales after assessment (they should follow the timescales but if something has to give it'll be the cin plan families!).

You'll have more regular visits - every 10 working days max

You'll have regular reviews (core meetings)

You'll have a well defined plan with clear targets

Cp plans are not meant to be long term.

Your children will be entitled to an advocate

Cin plans are easier to withdraw consent from.

I wouldn't fear them. In theory it should unlock more support.

I say all this but a good social worker helps, alot! Cin or cp if they are ineffective then your support will be.

Give the Family Rights Group a call. They've really helped me!

X
