I think most social media platforms ban anyone on the SOR from having an account and some (certainly FB) contact the police if they have reason to believe that someone is on SOR.
If the account is not in his legal name it will be in breach of SOR unless he has informed the police.
Does he have any legal restrictions other than SOR?
I am no longer with my ex but personally if I was I don't think I'd be happy with him having any social media accounts.
