So before Christmas we got the letter of the charges and his court date, 5th Jan. Christmas has been good although different but now normality has come back and it has suddenly hit again that life is not easy and this has still happened. I thought I would be relieved that the end is slowly approaching but I feel more anxious than I have ever done.
I am assuming that he will just go in, say guilty and then leave to wait for a date for sentencing. Am I being naive?!

I thought sor would of been part of sentencing. Do they do automatically?
Thanks lee1969 could they sentence there and then or dI they send out a date. They are asking for all financial details.
I'm also interested to understand what happens after someone pleads guilty.
What information is used for the sentencing? Obviously the guideliness and the evidence, what else? What other information or things are likely to be considered in the sentencing?
I understand there is usually some time between plea hearing and the sentencing, is this always the case or do they sometimes sentence on the same day?
When are conditions set out for SHPO?

The form came out with the court date. Looks like a generic form asking about income and outgoings. Thought it would for fines ....
Hi
Our solicitor mentioned that a fine could be included with a range of other sentencing options but I don't know if the form you received was to do with that. After my husband had his guilty plea accepted on 21st December he was required to present at the Police Sun by 24th to sign the SOR and give details about his passport, driving licence, banking etc. On the 27th we were visited by the SOPU Police Officers who worked through a questionnaire. It included health questions, questions about addictions and about income. Although this is all to do with risk assessment the Officers were also at pains to explain that they want offenders to leave them in better shape than they arrived. So they would have made referrals to various other agencies including welfare rights if any issues were spotted.
I have to say the Police have been unfailingly courteous and informative at every stage. They have also given advice about dealing with hostility from the public and told us a marker has been automatically attached to our address so they can prioritise their response to a 999 call.
Sorry, went on a bit there !

Hi,
The finances form is in case there is a fine so it's to work out if you can afford to pay it, it can also be if the CPS want you to pay their costs. I have had it with my teenage son but all I could put on for him was pocket money. It can also be for legal aid. There can also be a victims surcharge. In our case, we got legal aid, the judge didn't rule costs so we only paid the victims surcharge which goes towards women who are affected by domestic abuse and refuge
following plea we didn't have to have him sign the register. They then did a pre-sentence report in the interim which is sent to the judge and prosecution. Ours was one of the best they've seen apparently, which went in his favour. It's incredibly traumatic going through that stage and we had all prosecution options despite him being a teenager.

Thank you for all your replies. I am looking forward to this being all over but it is the outcome at sentencing. As I've read on here there is no rhyme or reason and I don't know wether I should be prepared for him to get a custodial. Does he go with a bag? Do I go to work and just wait and see?
Thanks Lee, his charges are making 9cat a images and making 10 cat b images. It would be only me that would do a character reference as no One else knows and I don't think he has done an accountability one. What would you put in them? C
Thanks Lee, yes we do have two children. Thank you for the advice on the letters. I will try and get one written for him to take x
