Hi everyone

I know this probably sounds ridiculously stupid but I'm waiting and I don't really know what for.

Knock came about 7 weeks ago. Husband was arrested and interviewed and devices siezed. He was bailed and not allowed to come near our 12 year old. This was dropped after 3 weeks (I was not informed, I had to call the police to find out). I was told that he was on a Kik and shared 1 image of an overage person. He has admitted to me that he sent and received messages talking about sex basically with anyone. He has said that images were sent to him, some containing underage. He says that any he opened were all cat c but there are others that he didn't open so he doesn't know what they were. He also said that he deleted some straight away.

The last time I spoke to the police officer she said he will go back to the police station end of February or beginning of march. What will happen then? What is it even called when he goes back. I would just like to have an idea of the process as I feel lost not knowing.

Thank you from a very anxious woman x

Hi Ann-Marie,

Is he on bail? If he is not on bail and released under investigation (rui ) then if he is called back for either a second interview or some call it a voluntary interview, this will be because they have found new evidence, this doesn't always happen, as each case is different. Hope this helps

If they were sent unsolicited and deleted, they will have a hard job proving "making",as long as they were not kept for "an unreasonable length of time" before being deleted.Deleted images on a phone which has a solid state hard drive are unlikely to be detectable or recoverable, similarly with a computer with an SSHD.

Get a good computer forensic expert if he intends to plead not guilty.

Hi Dawn.

Sorry, I missed that bit out. Yes he was bailed, then they extended it. I don't know why or if that is common practice. All I know is they are waiting for his phone to "come back".

Thank you for your time x

Annmarie it's not a silly question at all I think the same my son had the knock week before Christmas was taken to the station and released while they investigate seized his phone and lap top.

I am not really sure what they arrested him for he as admitted receiving and sending pics that's all I know so it's frustrating.

So it's a waiting game that I don't like.

Sending you good vibes

Hi,

If he is still on bail, he may then be released under investigation but that's not a given I suppose it depends on weather they get his phone back by then, wat I have learnt from this forum is they tend to end bail and put people rui so that gives them longer to investigate. Hope this helps
