Hi Chelsea

My son's case was sent to CPS in October nearly 4 months ago OIC said it is usually 28 days but there is a backlog so god knows, the waiting game is a nightmare!

Hiya.

Been online and the timeframe is 28 days but it's slipped to 33.5 days now.

We shall see.

We are in the south xx

Hi Chelsea,

I would totally agree with Lee on this, there are so many variables when it comes to these cases there is nothing set in stone about timeframes etc. The only time we received a specific timescale was actually in court whereby my OH was told the timeframe he had to register on the SOR and the date set for sentencing.

As Lee has advised it really isn't a good idea to read some of the online stuff and to use the organisations mentioned for advice.

Please take care, read these posts on this forum as you do get lots of good advice and extremely useful information and continue to ask people if they can help you to understand things. Despite the variables we have all suffered the same shock, horror and distress and in many cases the ongoing fallout since the knock,

Hiya Lee.

Thank you as always and my love to you.

Yes fully understand there is a huge backlog and courts etc getting dates.

My doctor's was very helpful indeed. Got me signed up for therapy and things to do.

Joined a local running club and baking club.

Told hubby that no more smartphone otherwise we are finished. Got him a cheap phone. No internet and only calls and text.

Hiya Katie.

Thank you for taking the time to answer me.

If it's ok would you tell me your timeframes and what did he get charged for and sentence.

Fully understand if you don't.

Hiya Lee.

Mmmm maybe once we have got the sentencing out of the way and see where we are at then maybe he can have a smartphone with that app. Great idea the app.

Hi Chelsea,

We got the knock in February 2021, voluntary interview in August, recieved charges and court summons in mid October, plea hearing 2 weeks later and sentenced early December. Charges were non contact offence relating to possession and making of images with x 1 distribution (the distribution carried the highest sentence and it was a cat B image). He got a 12 month suspended sentence, had to sign on the SOR and received a SHPO (for internet use only), he also received a 4 month curfew whereby he was fitted with a tag till April 1st. I hated the guys coming into my house to fit the tag and equipment but again they were so polite and non judgemental, they could see I was clearly distressed and sat with us both for quite a long time afterwards having a cup of tea and literally chatting about anything and everything. I understood they were doing their job but they managed to make a very serious and upsetting situation much easier to handle and cope with. I hope this helps you,

Hiya Lee.

Yes we are trying our very best at the moment. I am just making sure his mental health is ok.

We are still hugging etc and taking each day at a time.

He thinks the worse of everything has always done. He thinks he will go to prison but at the volunteer interview the arresting officer and his soliceter said no way.

I have seen some cases of low numbers going to prison and some have 1,000s across all cases having a suspended sentence

He on his 7 paid concelling session and been charged with viewing 48 pictures in all settings , first time offence but really worried about prison and media.

Sorry for the ramble. X

Hiya Lee.

Yes we have been to marriage concelling and talked but not about this about other stuff in bedroom department.

Like I said it's all about trust. If I know what he has done I can try and deal with it and the mobile phone I got him will help.

In the mean time just one day at the time and hopefully he will get a light sentence and we can try and move on.
