1st knock was March 2020 was RUI, police then came again end of September 2021-we were told we would be at the magistrates the next day but then a phone call at 1am saying he was allowed home on RUI again and that the CPS are now dealing with his case, nearly 5 months later we are still waiting but no idea what comes next. Can anyone tell us a rough idea of what to expect?

So so sick of waiting but at the same time dreading not knowing whats to come.x

Hey hun,

So charges will be posted and delivered to your address by post - ours came by hand by the officer. It then gives you your date for magistrates where you submit your guilty or not guilty plea and will be about a month in the future. As soon as you get the charges call your solicitor to arrange a meeting to go through and call the CPS to get the evidence sent across (you can get it straight away and not 5 days before the court hearing). At this point your solicitor will advise what they think you should plead. Get a copy of the evidence from your solicitor if you get it sent to them as the CPS will suggest sending the evidence to the solicitor and go through it with a fine tooth comb. We pleaded not guilty at magistrates and now are waiting for the next stages and are hoping someone with a brain looks at the evidence and gets it all dropped because the evidence is pitiful. Xx
