Hi just wanting to pick brains of those who have been to court.

if you have had your case closed by childrens services before charges have been made at the begining of this. After attending court and signing the register do childrens services get re involved or is it after sentancing if anyone can let me know

Thanks xx

Hi,

I think that when you sign the SOR they ask you if you live with or have regular contact with any children. I don't know if this means SS reopen the case at that point or not but they get contacted to make them aware

Really hope it all goes smoothly for you x

Hi summer

From what my understanding from people I have spoken to that have had cases closed and then charges brought and sentencing done I believe they do come back to do another sections 7 or section 47 assessment.

In my case it was never closed my h got a cousdional sensation for 15 months and served 7 he not on the sor or the shpo but has sexual risk order for 10 years, I have taken it to the Family courts for them to see if my child can see her dad, I have been take to child proceedings which they look to see if I am protecting her and a back up plan if I can't which means removal.

I am currently under going another section 7 assesement,,

I am awaiting a protective assessment

My h has got to under go a risk assessment to and then fingers crossed we will know where we stand.

Hope this might help in some way xxx

Hi Summer

For me it was closed up until sentencing and then after he entered his plea at crown court, they re-opened the case as a child in need.

I was confused why it was section 47 again as he'd always said he was pleading guilty. They explained it as - when the risk changes that's when they have to re-assess. Still doesn't make much sense as they always knew he was guilty. So I assume when either they are found guilty or plead guilty it's automatic. The PPU visited us after the plea hearing and made the referral to SS.

Best of luck with everything over the next few days xx

Thank you Emma, I think that makes sense, I was wondering who at what point makes another referral as I need a heads up because of my job and to let management know to keep it under wraps. Thank you it makes more sense
