My partner got ten years on the register and SHPO in summer 2019.

Overall the restrictions don't greatly impact us. It's the requirement for disclosure that is the tricky part. Trying to find jobs that don't ask, avoiding people with children (out in public is fine, can't be helped).

The police check his phone and devices every couple of months, which can be intrusive since they will look at our messages to each other. I admit I do still send nsfw pics and my partner is not allowed to delete them until these are checked by police. I'm not too shy tho many people would not be comfortable.

My partner is gotto try to get his shoot reduced or at least chnaged to remove the condition of no contact with children unless with parent and SS permission. This clause is on many SHPOs dispute the offending being online only. This is the clause that is giving us the most greif because even tho the police have said I don't need to disclose to family members because they live far away and we assure them my ptwont go near the kids, the police may chnage their mind

He was a civil servant so had to lose his job. But his background was in engineering and after he was sentenced he got a job where they never asked for conviction background. He also isn't working near children. If he does need to be near a site near kids he is supervised anyway as an overall safeguarding procedure. He is actually earning more than he ever has. So there is some hope for others, k just recommend looking for companies that are really small and are less likely to ask about convictions. There are also companies that will take on offenders, but not sure how many feel about sex offenders

He was sentenced with two years suspended and ten years on sor and SHPO for possession and dist of all categories, prohibited material and animal images. Also got 200 hours comm service.

To be honest I can't remember now. It was defo overall over a thousand possessed, not sure on distribution.
