Sentenced today
Notifications OFF
My OH was sentenced today - 2yrs suspended with 180 hours community service, SOR and SHPO for 10 yrs.
He already signed the SOR after his magistrate's hearing in December but his SHPO says he must notify within 3 days, so does this mean he has to go to the police station again after today or he has his first appointment with probation on Monday do they go through it all with him then? It states he can't use social media chats unless he notifies the police first and he has to have restrictions placed on his mobile, but when does this get done?
All we were given when leaving court today was the written copy of the SHPO which I don't completely understand and his appointment with PO?
Any help appreciated, thanks.

Hiya Fluffy.
To be honest I don't know apart from when he went to magistrates SOR starts.
Seems alot what did he get charged with if you don't mind me asking.

Hi Chelsea 1
His charges were possession and distribution across all 3 categories, 2 cat A, 8 cat B, and 14 cat c, so not a great deal in terms of volume. Just trying to get head around what the shpo actually means and if he needs to go to a police station over the weekend. He doesn't drive and our nearest station is 50mins away with no direct public transport so a bit of a trek in itself. To get the train you have to go into London to change and then back out which is also very costly.

Hiya Fluffy.
Wow that's a big sentence etc for a very low number must be the distribution.
Seems like a right trek.
My hubby is awaiting his charges from CPS and when we move he will have to travel back which is over 200 miles.
Any media issues ?

Fluffy,
At least he is home and you can start moving forwards again.
I don't know whether he has to sign anything else either but perhaps you could give the Police Station a call? Or call your Solicitor or Probation Officer on Monday morning so you don't have an unnecessary journey.
In the meantime have a great weekend.

Hi Lee
The shpo states he is prohibited from using any device capable of accessing the Internet unless: he notifies of its acquisition, had capacity to retain history etc. With regards to Internet chat forums it says unless he notifies within 3 days of existing accounts or he makes chats and messages immediately available if requested. He only has 1 mobile which they already know about and no other devices, we just want to know if he can continue using it as his work contact him via WhatsApp on a regular basis as they have a chat group for shift handovers.
It's just all the terminology difficult to understand. Is it only if he gets new devices, they have said he is prohibited from refusing to allow police to install risk management software but when do the police do this? Or is it not necessarily the case that will happen?

I'm so sorry your partner has been given a harsh sentence for a minor amount of images.
They basically ensured that he receives the harshest of punishment and going back to a normal life will be difficult....
