My husband was arrested last September. There is no denying he has been looking at Porn online and he is familiar with the UK laws around this. However he has also been diagnosed with paranoid delusional disorder and I believe he instigated this Police investigation because he is paranoid that he advertently viewed images of under 18s. The police took our devices away last September (ipads and iMAC) and we were advised that they would not start looking at them until February. Now February is here we are both getting anxious and I get nervous every time someone knocks at the door. I am also very worried something is going to happen when I am away for work and there is no one here to take care of my three cats. If the Police start checking the devices now when might we hear from them and is there a possibility that actually they won't start looking at them until much later. I am not clear what the process is from here.

Hi worriedwife,

I am sorry to say it could upto a year before they are checked, I think sometimes it can depend on where u r in the country, I no ours were taken in just 2018 and I didn't get them back until the September 2020 and that was only the ones that didn't have anything on them, if they find things on them u will never get them back. I'm so sorry its not great news. Try to look after urself xx

Hey Worried,

Sorry you're going through this, I know exactly how you feel in regards to knocks etc, I still feel sick and panic whenever there's a knock or a bang and that's knowing there won't be anymore in relation to this! It will probably take a few months for them to go through them so I wouldn't worry (if possible) for the time being. If there is anything found they will normally invite your husband to the station for a second interview to address what has been found, from what I've seen on here they do normally call and don't come round but I can't be 100% sure on that, it's important to make sure he has a solicitor if this happens particularly with his recent diagnosis. How exactly do you think this all came about if you don't mind sharing? Do you think there is a possibility of there being images on the devices? Xx
