Hi I was wondering what happens with the Pre Sentence Report, do they conduct it over the phone, my son has Aspergers so is really quiet on the phone, what sort of questions do they ask as my son is worried, he doesn't want to come across to them as a dangerous offender, he is really quiet and thinks he might sound a bit off on the phone, will this go against him, just wondering what they ask you and whats the best things to say really, thanks

I'd let them know about your son's Asperger's and more specifically how this might affect his responsiveness on the phone call so they know... Offer to provide a doctor's not if a proof of diagnosis is required... Communication is key...

I haven't been through a pre sentence report yet so my advice is based on what I would do if I were in your situation....

Hi, my husband has his coming up soon. It is over the phone and the letter says not to go to the office. We have spoken to his solicitor and she said she will send all relevant things such as safer lives and therapist work to them so they can see it.

maybe your sons solicitor could send an email explaining his Asperger's? It would be worth a shot so he can get the best out of it

My husband has just seen the Criminal Justice Social Worker for his pre sentencing report. He had three meetings, two in person. The first, looking at the offence was about an hour, the second, looking at earlier life events, about two hours and he had a phone call when she read over the report. My husband put his phone on loud speaker for the last session so I could chip in if necessary.

Yes, contact whoever is doing your son's report so that s/he understands his communication needs. If he has had any assessments about his communication needs in the past get them over before the interview to back up what you have told them.

Hope it goes well for him.
