Further Delay

Husband's sentencing hearing delayed for the second time as the Criminal Justice pre sentencing report is still unfinished. We had a call from the CJ social worker on Thursday. She ran through it over the phone and informed us she would be sending the report to the Court on Friday. Today she reported some childcare problems had prevented the completion of the paperwork.
Unfortunately, due to the schedule of the Court, we will probably now have a delay of a further month. It will cost us more money as we do not get legal aid. I had already spoken with my GP, Occupational Health and my manager about returning to work when I could draw a line under the legal proceedings. I feel utterly crushed. Angry. Depressed, with pernicious little voices telling me I really don't matter to anyone.
Tomorrow I will be better. I will put on my calm exterior and carry on. Today....not so good.

Totally get you want to draw a line under this and move on which ever way that is. Yes people can be I'll and child care issues but surely leaving it till last minute is scraping it I'm so sorry you are going to have to wait more time and use more of your money for this. And also wasting tax payers money too!
such a build up for nothing to happen I'm sure it's stressful for you both. The whole system needs a bloody sort out!!

Judith, I'm so sorry. All energy in the build up and preparation. It must be so exhausting.
Much like the NHS, the system just isn't big enough to cope. It still seems so unfair though, particularly on the completely innocent parties - who's lives and wellbeing are hugely impacted.
I hope your next court date is much sooner than you anticipate.

SAL at least the NHS cares and wants better doesn't seem like that's the case with the criminal justice System
