My son was arrested and released under investigation in September 2021. 5 pieces of equipment siezed. .he was interviewed then police advised checked phone and another appliance within 3 weeks. Son has to report to police station in a couple of weeks. . Its his 1st offence . . He send images he says by mistake to decoy. . I'm beside myself wondering what will happen to him . . He not been called for 2nd interview just to attend police station . .he has solicitor . Things found on snap chat and kik
Not all those charged get a second interview. Has he been told what the police visit is for? When my partner went it was to discuss evidence they had found.
The length of time from knock to sentencing can vary from less than year to about two a d half years sometimes sooner or longer. It is hard to say what to expect until all the evidence is disclosed.
After the police station visit they might say they are sending to CPS, that would indicate charges are to follow.

Thank you. . He has had counselling and is waiting more. Do the police let you know when it been sent to the CPS
They should give some sort of heads up to the offender. Maybe something to say that charges will be following. It took a couple of months after the second and final interview for charges to be given. My partner got his by the police delivering to the house, in plain clothes

Heard today it gone to CPS ...police rang to say we can have computers back but not phone . Wondering how long now to conclusion. . My heart is breaking
More advice if possible. . Case gone to CPS now got a date to go back to police station does this mean a decision has been made or just to prolong it .
I would ask why the invite back because not everyone is invited after going to CPS. Maybe they want the offender to collect the charges at the station? My partner had his delivered. Then again we are not local to the police force who needed to hand the charges over

Has it definitely gone to CPS? Maybe they have more questions or maybe it's a NFA? Ask the OIC whether it is another interview or not x

sorry to hear it's been extended. I've read so many cases which appear to take so long and it is just so incredibly difficult for everyone. Stay strong I know it's hard.

I know how you feel. I'm a witness too as I found the material, ours went to CPS Jan last year and we are no further forward but I'm suspecting it's due to some other circumstances that have been happening in the background.
Its hard to say how long you will wait in this its 2 years this June since I found it on his device.
The whole process has been awful!

Still waiting for cps to make a decision. How long can they take. My mind is in over drive ... also how do you know when they have made their decision...thank you

Thank you it is a great help to know that I can ask questions. It is difficult at home because people trying to protect me and stop me worrying so I can't speak or ask questions. I really do appreciate having contact eith people going through the same thing. I love my son and I know he has made a Hugh mistake . . Thank you again

Looks like it Wednesday that son is back at police station as it been to cps. . When charged what happens does it just go to magistrates court or crown court if he's pleaded guilty. . Thank you a desperate mum

Thank you. . I'm just beside myself. . I know he has done wrong but I know he has made a terrible mistake. I dont know how he will cope if he gets a custodial sentence .

Aw thank you all the support is a great comfort. Son was told when he was arrested his solicitor told him worst case would be a long sentence but then they had only got his phone. We have been told all other appliances can now be returned to my husband and sons work
Friends once again. . I need help to understand the procedure. . Son has had confirmation to go police station to be charged in the morning . . But his solicitor is not attending . Why. .. does solicitor know the charges is it not as bad as it could be or am I clutching at straws. . ... x x

Friends just an update. . Son been charged today on 1 account engaging in talking to and distribution to a decoy over a 3 week period. In court mid June. I am so relieved nothing else was found and what son told us was the truth and when found out age stopped communicating. Just waiting now for the outcome. . Wondering what sentence he will get . Thanks for all your support

Hi friends . It's getting near to son appearing in magistrates court on 1 account of talking to a decoy and sending image over a 2 week period nothing else. Wondering what sentence he can expect . Thank you a Worried mum

Hi friends. Update on today. . Son went to magistrates courts pleaded guilty. . Having a pre sentence report going back to magistates in a month. .solicitor is pressing for it to stay in Magistrates Court

Hi well tomorrow is Tuesday my son finds out what sentence he will get . Pre sentence report done. I'm beside myself . Hoping once thus us over we can try and build a new family life under whatever the outcome ..... Will let you know the outcome . Thank you for your support x

Well the outcome today gor our son is the best we could have hoped for. . 18 weeks prison suspended for 2 years. . SHPO 40 days rehabilitation and forbidden on social media and 7 years on SOR. .

Hello friends. . We getting along as best we can unfortunately work decided to dismiss my son yesterday he worked there for 11 years . Was wondering will he ever get a job and if so what work could he do . Please have anyone got any advice.....thank you

I agree with Daffodil it would be good to contact UNLOCK charity. I would also make contact with NACRO, a social justice charity. A link that may be of use to you and your son is as follows:-

Hi friends. I back for a little more advice. . Since son had his sentencing he is afraid to go out and he has since been dismissed from a job he loved after 10 years.. I need to visit my elderly mum who lives in Spain and want take son with us because I'm concerned about his mental health. . His probation officer knows and has taken dates etc. .son informing police as he knows he has to .Will anything show up on his passport. . Thank you gain
Not travelled yet since my partner was sentenced but my understanding is that if agreed with police and PO it should be fine. Tho not sure what lies ahead for the future, there is the temp visa (cost 7 quid for three years I think) that might require disclosure. I don't think such confirmation has been provided yet what this visa will mean for sex offenders.

Me and my partner went to Spain in July and nothing came up on his passport something which I was really worried about! But our solicitor and police said it wouldn't! Hope this helps xx
