Hi,

partner is waiting for cps charges 'making cat a-c' iioc, 1st offence, immaculate work history, doing everything he can to put things as right as can be - modules, private therapy etc.

his work place where he has been for 20 years was contacted by safeguarding as some of his offices have apprentices which may only be 16 or 17 (even though he doesn't know peoples ages and there would be other people around, it's a 'just in case') so they have let him work from home and can do 80% of his job from home.

im wondering long term if he will be sacked when charged, as he can't do 20% of his job from home but my question is that why did he not need a dbs/crc for this job in the first place? Surely if they need to protect under 18s they should have? It's a large national compamy with many workers in the same role as him and no checks are required! Therefore can they still sack him on this basis? He could have been on the SOR when he took this job and they would never have known.

has anyone been in the situation or have any advice please?

hope you ladies are having a good weekend

Investigations don't come up in DBS checks. Would be interesting after sentencing if him working with under 18s would be an issue. Most restrictions are under 16s when it comes to contact.

Defo check out unlocked, but if his work are aware of his investigation they should be able to say what may happen after sentencing

Nothing in contract about disclosing. Solicitor told him not to until charges. But as he doesn't need a dbs and doesn't work directly with children I read on the family rights group he didn't have to disclose at all, although he wanted to once charges confirmed because he wanted to be honest.
was a bit of a shock work finding out so soon incase he briefly ends up in the same office as a 16/17 year old - he wouldn't be working directly with them.

Thank you, I will definitely speak to unlock. Police and SS told us when it comes to IIOC restrictions is usually under 18s
