Sadmum, I can't offer any advise, I'm a few weeks away from sentencing with my partner, but the line "I can't wait for this to be over" is something I was going to write about today. Most days I have a period of positivity, even if its just for an hour, but one of the most consistent feelings I come back to is - I just want it over with.
I don't know what over really means though.
Is it sentencing.
Is it coming out of prison.
Is it walking away from the relationship.
Its great that the OIC will not release photos.

The media to be honest and I have said it before after this journey I dont think anything can be any worse!
My sons case will be printed the OIC has already told me that so I know the moment he is sentanced it will be out there but so long as my other adult children and my son are ok that is all I care about, people can have there own opinions and assumptions but they DO NOT walk in our shoes xx

I found the media the worst thing about this whole process x it was shared on Facebook and people say some nasty things x people who know you will stand by you x it gets better I promise x

It must be extremely hurtful and heart breaking to see and read things about loved ones. I've seen similar things come up on my feeds, and even prior to this, I've felt people that make these comments seem to lack emotional intelligence.

Like we've said these crimes are titled 'sex offence' don't get me wrong none of these crimes are acceptable (and should be punished). But it's a title that covers a MASSIVE area - yet people view it as the same / peodafile, monster...... it's so unfair and misleading when the media dig in.
As for fb etc, I'd never go on it again -hate social media and how it has a huge capacity to turn people nasty to each other.
