Hi everyone,

My brother is half way through his prison sentence and has a child. His ex has cut all contact with him and us because he sent her a letter that she wasn't happy with.

She has contacted the prison to say she no longer wishes to receive contact from him and she's cut contact with my and my mum, too.

This means we can no longer find out how my 7 year old niece is and let my brother know that she's ok.

Does anyone have any advice on how to tackle this?

Thanks.

HI Llilypad2020

I dont have a lot of advise but maybe write her a letter just to explain how you and your mum would desperately still want contact with her and your niece

Explain how this has impacted you all and while you do not condone what he has done you will want to support him

Sorry it's not much help but I hope you can get something resolved

Take care x

I'm not sure how it works when they are in prison but he should consider going to family courts when he is out as that will be the only way to try to seek contact. My partner is having to do this and is a long process as his ex wants zero contact but we are hoping the courts can set contact requirements that will need to followed.
