Hey all,

I've just come across this on Youtube and it explains in detail (20 mins) the failing of a vigilante group and the full explanation from the CPS including the full response from the OIC on the CPS decision. If not of any use to anyone it makes for interesting viewing, particularly the reference to what vigilante groups are doing, although the guy who is a vigilante himself is very waffly and should stick to his day job. I appreciate a lot of people do not want to give the time of day to these groups but this case example could potentially help in future and is reassuring that the CPS are being mindful of accepting cases from vigilantes. I know we're not meant to put links so I hope this is ok as it's educational:

I've also waffled a bit there. Basically they tried to sting someone and the video is explaining why the CPS rejected the case.

im really interested in this link but can't seem to view the content . My autistic son was stung 4 weeks ago and we are going through the most terrible time . He disclosed he was autistic at the beginning of online sex communication which lasted only 1 week. He tried to delete it and they kept reconnecting. Unfortunately he was very explicit !

Hey Winnie,

Ah how annoying! I've checked it's still up and it is so I will post again after this with a direct link and hope that the mods are ok with this. I'm so sorry that happened to you, these groups are despicable. I hope you and your son are ok. There are a lot of resources on here for help with being in this situation with autism. If you search "autistic" in the search bar on the main page of the forum you will be able to find relatable information. Sending love xx

Yes, he said he had autism in the first couple of texts and they carried on!

unfortunately he carried on too and suggested they meet, which never actually happened. I was his appropriate adult and heard his interview. He was very sexually explicit and let it go on for a bit knowing she was 13yrs old (even though she didn't actually exist).

he tried to delete it and they kept reconnecting with him and he was drawn in again . Like I said it only lasted for a week. He is very socially naive and has no friends or social outlets , although we are now trying to address this through various channels.

the scumbags were so aggressive they made a big noise in the street and knocked on our neighbours doors and the police let them livestream it as they put him in the van. We are just devastated- for him too obviously and scared stiff.

no lee1969, they didn't confiscate their device at all, just said they know where the line of the law is! We've been terrified of repercussions and all the police say is ring 101 !

thank you all for your kind words x
