Update on today

So my son got 8 years custodial and 4 years licence :-( but it could have been a lot worse
The prosecution I wont say much other than he went in for the jugular
My sons barrister was really good and kind she came and sat with me after
The biggest part that took my by surprise was the Judge I was expecting the worst but she was extremely knowledgeable about my sons case, she pulled the prosecution up several times she wanted it documented that she had read my sons accountability letter, she read mine and my daughter's references, she mentioned the LFF work and the PSR and therapist report and took his early plea in to account and she even made reference to me been there on my own supporting my son
The day has been really emotional but I am so so proud of my son the way he conducted himself today . It was extremely hard hearing it all read out but I knew everything before hand
I just want to say thank you to you all for your kind messages they got me through this today

I have been thinking of you and your Son today, and I have kept you both in my prayers. At least there is no more waiting. I am dreading what's coming for my Son, for all of us. I think only good can now come from this. Keep on keeping on and I hope that you get some sleep tonight. Hope your son is as well as he can be. Xx

May I ask what charges were and did they describe the images/chats in great detail (I ask as this is one thing I'm trying to decide if I need to hear before court).

Smile you have and are there with your son and that is priceless, so dont let the fact of not been in court on the day take away how much love and support you give to him xx I am so pleased he has got himself a job xx no wine tonight but I may have one tomorrow and if I do I raise my glass to you all you amazing women xxx

Thank you for the check in we are doing ok I was in work today so kept me busy x
Spoke to my son last night after he got back from court he like myself know it could have been so much worse so even though he got a lengthy sentence he is going to be ok (I hope)
No media was in court but I know the police will post it's just the matter of when, we had already come off social media and certainly will not be looking to see if there is anything by the Google search etc
My only concern is for my son and my close family and it will be old news soon enough xx

Hi upset. As you son has been in prison for a while - you do get use to the routine and things slot into place. You both have been very brave.
Let's hope, the media keep at bay. Other people told me our case was on the radio and in our local paper, we just buried our heads in the sand and, as you say, it soon passes.
My lad is fine and has his uniform ready to start work on Tuesday. I just hope there's no hiccups as he's looking forward to it.
