Looking for any employment advice please - where to look, what sort it companies would take on a sex offender, we've been told it's unlikely to be contact restrictions on the SHPO only internet based.

were people honest about why they left last job (sacked) did you disclose offence or being on SOR and if so at what point in the recruitment process?

I agree financial and mentally helpful to work.
My Oh has been told by unlock to wait until after sentencing before finding work ... but that does not help me pay the mortgage!
He is in magistrates next week so expecting crown in July ish. He's just been sacked and struggles to wind down when he has a week off work so I'm worried about him.
after speaking to solicitor and oic it's likely he'll get suspended and a SHPO with internet only restrictions, but it's the disclosing time a potential employer which worries me x

Unlock have company's that employee SO I have the same worries as you Smile x

When we were talking at the visit he was saying about work but we are a long way off from him coming home:-(

He has life on the SHPO and SOR yes it's an awful crime but surly they are punished enough and I think there should be a limit on these not life but again these crimes are treated under the same umbrella xx

I'm following you, although it's a long time until we have to worry about that.

One of the things that, yes there will be work he can do, it might take him a while, but I wonder if the jobs that will be available will be engaging enough - Being engaged and satisfied is a huge part of mental wellbeing.

Upset Mum, what angers me, that my partner has life time SOR and SHPO - The same as serial rapists and physical child abusers. Is my person really as dangerous as those people.

It is 15 years, it was one of the first questions I asked his solicitor. Not much help for mh partner as he'll be close to retirement by then, but hopefully of help for Upset Mum.

I have to push these feelings of injustices aside, it makes me so angry. I don't have the energy yet to try and fight them.

Not every company asks about convictions. My partner has a job in a small company (only 20 staff) and they never asked. The police say he doesn't need to disclose unless asked. Be also sometimes works near schools, but is always supervised when out the office.
