Hi can anyone let me know if you have to update the register for a youtube account, my son has set one up today and just noticed its classed as social media . also when he gets his shpo and has to give email address details, is that only the email address he uses now, he still has a couple in his old name that are going though deletion so will he have to give those as well?

thanks

Our solicitor's advice was to provide everything that could possibly be relevant so we ended up printing off all account names and passwords from chrome! It was a long list!! However, there is now no possibility of the police suggesting that he is hiding any accounts. The other advice was 'if in doubt, contact his Visor officer' - sound advice but do it by email so there's a written record.

So all this included accounts rarely used as well.

We included gaming id's, all email accounts and any other on-line id's. He now makes sure he doesn't create any new id's even if using different software.

They will often want email addresses and usernames used online under the criteria of 'Names you typcially use'. However given that everyone appears to operate differently how consistent that is applied I have no idea!!

Hi

Definately ask! My hubby's draft SHPO doesn't say he can't have social media. And we were not asked to provide email addresses or usernames ect for SOR.

I don't think there is any harm in telling them that there is an account, it hasn't been used in a long time and you can't remember the login details. At least that shows honesty and that you aren't trying to hide anything.

I'm pretty sure we all have dormant accounts for sites that we've long since forgotten about.
