Advice please

My son is out on bail until his sentencing on 7th July he really wants to get some help re therapy etc but we don't know whether to start now or wait until after the 7th just in case of a prison sentence although his barrister is going and hoping for a suspended sentence but we will just have to wait as anything can happen in the day any advice would be much appreciated xxx
