Hi our knock was July 2021 she sed 6 weeks then before Christnas , then January ect she kept contact with me and seemed to be nice I would cry on the phone for ages talking . But now ino it was just to keep tabs on my partner.

She basically had no idea how long it would be . Then last week the solicitor emailed saying he's to go for a2nd interview tomorrow . She's emailed today saying she can no longer make it .

So to be honest no idea how long . To bloody long is all I know . I don't think it matters what's on there either they took everything we had kids iPads ect was only on his mobile so wasn't like it takes ages to check think it's just the back log

This investing officer is always on leave to be honest so annoying . They shud get someone else to do it if she's off all the time xx

Almost one year in. No updates from police, no communication from them, its so draining and my life has been hell for the past 12 months. Not quite sure how I have managed to carry on for so long. Every knock at the door, letter, car door outside I think its them, and to be honest I wish it was as I just want to know something now.

I'm the same :( especially with post I think this is the charges every letter ripping it open like crazy. My partner said by the time it's time for his second interview he won't know exactly what to discuss because it's bean so long and mentally scaring he's blocked it from his mind xx

Thank you so much for your reply's it feels like it's been forever. I would of thought with the situation they would want to do it quicker seems like I have a little while to go then as it's only been 8 months.

my partner is the same he seems to have blocked everything out and doesn't even want to talk about anything.
thank you xx

Hi, same here, around 7 months from Knock and nothing, very draining just living each day and making sure he is safe and not doing himself harm (he has tried :(. he's absolutely petrified of his future and is starting to unravel his past and what got him here. To keep us all waiting so long is soul destroying

I emailed and bugged the life out of the oic, told her my life had been ripped apart and I needed to know what to do about Xmas etc etc she felt sorry for me and pushed us to the front of the que - she had finished looking at devices in less than 3 weeks! Then a few weeks later second interview to discuss what they found, CPS decision after 2 months, magistrates a couple of months later and sentencing next month so 7/8 months start to finish all being well x

Mindful - if it's been sent to CPS it's usually only a couple of months! Maybe they've lost it! X

Hello Fed up,

My partner got the knock April 2022. Took all devices (there were loads as he IT) he had text this week to say he can have 7 of his devices back. So it's only been 2 months. I guess it depends on the area your based in and if they have a back log or higher priority cases . I really hope you hear something soon. Big hugs

For me the devices seized in March and charges were posted in December. I'm not sure why they ask for phone numbers because they will have them, I think it's laziness on their part or perhaps they lost the contact info for him. I had something similar and due to the horrific OIC it wouldn't surprise me if he just did it goad me as there were 2 visits to my house after the initial knock which could've been done by the phone and one of them I WISH I had recorded the conversation as the officer breached data protection. We're now awaiting a jury trial which will likely be next year at some point. It's an absolute joke.

Playing the waiting game here as well. The knock was in March this year. Originally bailed for 28 days, then 3 months, but he had a call last week to say that as of that call he is now rui and a letter would come to confirm. No update from police about devices taken or anything. Letter came today but on seeing Police postmark I immediately felt like I was going to throw up, thinking it was charges.

Thing is he's been suspended from work since the knock as police informed them on day of arrest. He's being paid so far, but we're expecting that to stop anytime. They are supposedly doing their own investigation, although how they're doing that when they only know the reason he was arrested originally, and it's nothing to do with his job. Being off work also means he has far too much time on his hands to think, and us being together 24/7 is hard when we're both so stressed.

So as well as waiting for news from the police, we're waiting to find out when/if he's going to stop being paid by work and/or lose his job.

Trying to live life while we wait, but also trying to make contingency plans for when/if the worst happens is so hard.

14 months so far and no news since the arrest. It seems to vary quite a lot. I wonder if it depends where you are in the country..

It's taken a lot longer than they said it would with my partners as well unfortunately.

It's been around 20 months for us now, and the first magistrates court date is only this week.

We were told 10-12 months for the investigation. That took much longer and so has been awaiting the court date.

It's been a long hard journey. But I have still had many positive days throughout this.

Are you any further to seeing the end in sight now?

To all you ladies who have been waiting so long, I have a question.

Was you OH allowed back to the house while you have been waiting? We are still on initial bail conditions which state that he can't sleep at home. The officer did say that he might be allowed home when he goes back for his next bail appointment but I don't know whether I can believe him or not.

As best I can remember it was 13 months from the knock to charges. About a month later he was in magistrates and entered his plea. A month after that he was in Crown Court for sentencing but the judge said he didn't have enough information from the prosecution so postponed for a month. Then 16 months after the knock he was finally sentenced.

7.5 months from knock to sentencing. Like I say I emailed oic at least once a week saying my life was in tatters and I needed to know, needed to move on. I would do the same again in a heartbeat. Worth a shot ladies, it seemed like forever so I can only imagine what you are going thru x

It really varies by police force and by crime and cps and court space and if thier investigation/evidence presented was robust enough

we are 37 months post knock awaiting further trail date
