I'm confused about the devices being returned to my ex, they aren't keeping the phone he was using at the time of arrest but are keeping things from a really long time ago.
Is that normal?

I understand that they only keep things they've found evidence on, everything else is returned.
That is what I thought but he says the phone he was using kik on, that he was involved in the chat in is being returned?

This does sound strange- perhaps wait and see if the phone is actually returned first. (what the police say and what they actually do can be two different things entirely!)
However, I am sure it would not be the first time that they have returned stuff in error, which should be part of their investigation.

Obviously nothing found on his phone ....but taking into account I would never believe anything the police say ...so could be numerous reasons why
My son lost the lot phone, I pad and PlayStation consoles - app destroyed.
