Hello.
My dad was arrested 14 months ago and has received a date for court today which is next week. He is being charged with 1 image of CAT 1. 1 image of CAT 2 and 1 image of CAT3. Does anybody know why only 1 of each as there were many more? I feel so much anxiety.

Hey there, the catagories are usually A/B/C, as from what it sounds like there is atleast one images from each catagory your father's sentencing will start right the way up in Catagory A sentencing guidelines... However it will work on his favour, or sorry should work in his favour the low number...

Is it possible that it is one charge for each category rather than one image? My ex had one charge per category but on the charge sheet it specified how many images. Might not be the same for your situation x
I am lisannes sister. It says 1 image but we know there are more. I think we won't know maybe until court. We are also very worried about our Mum and what to do because she doesn't want to know how bad it is. We want to protect her but also not be oblivious. It's a tricky one to navigate. We don't think she will cope with what cat A actually means.

Thankyou so much for your replies. Yes I have spoken to the solicitor and he advised me that he is waiting for the information himself regarding how many images , catagories ect. We have been advised that it will go to crown court.It feels like we are back at the beginning emotionally.I honestly still cannot comprehend what has happened. I am still supporting my dad but have no idea why. It's like I can't associate the crime with him.It's so heartbreaking.
Lisanne I think everyone o this forum struggles to associate their person with the activities accused of. Sometimes it feels maybe like they were taken over by an alien or something. I guess many of us have secrets we keep from others, including our loved ones, but you do wonder did they ever stop to think for a minute if this was a sensible thing to be doing, and the ramifications of being found out...

I agree Bitterbean - it's so damn hard to get your head round why a person that (you love) gets themselves involved in this world yet no one suspects or spots it. Where is their head? I remember Lee once saying when addicted to something any reasoning goes completely out the window.
