Hello everyone

so we are now 4 months after sentencing and life has kinda gone back to normal with a 2 year suspended sentence and on SOR and a SHPO.

we are looking to go on a family holiday and my goodness it is a whirlwind finding out where we can go. So as far as I'm aware the police guy in charge has said there is a marker on passport and he will be definitely spoken to the chances are tiny that he would be made to leave the country. If we were to stay in Europe there would not be a problem. Countries he is not allowed is USA, Canada and Thailand.
has anyone had experience of foreign holidays and how it has played out. He has tried speaking to everyone and no one can give a difinative answer and I'm worried that I'll be left at an a airport with two very upset children!
thank you in advance

We have been on to unlock and again no one will give a clear answer apart from the countries that are a definite no and that Europe will be easiest.

Our visor manager said USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand are definitely a no. Technically because my partner is American we can do the USA as he has full citizenship and is just returning home, but they might still make it difficult.

he also advised that Dubai and UAE are making it difficult now and refusing entry.

lastly, he said Spain can be difficult and they don't stop entry but they will pull partners off to the side and be nasty about it. So just to be prepared - Alicante is the worst for it apparently.

Not yet gone abroad, partner still has sorted out his passport. There is a concern of mine that once the new travel rules are in place for eu (the 7 quid visa thing) it will be harder to go abroad. But this far there is little info on this, but my understanding it is more to prevent people like terrorist and human traffickers.

One thing to note is if you travel in the UK the local police will be informed. We were told a week before going to Scotland that the police were not happy we were staying nearby to a school (despite there being not restrictions on the matter) and were thinking of visiting us while in the trip.

This was very frustrating. They never showed up in the end thankfully

Thank you everyone, that is what I have been told about USA, Canada, etc but more countries seem to be added like Thailand which we got told was a no go country. I am prepared for him to be taken to the side and questioned but not for him to be told to leave.
We are going to look in Europe. I was happy to holiday in England but of course he wants us to have a family holiday of a life time to make everything right.....

Majestic (or anyone)

How would they know you were going on holiday in the UK? Do you have to declare any overnight stays etc once on the SOR/SHPO?
i know things like butlins etc is off the cards when on the SOR but didn't realise booking a cottage for example would flag up anywhere?

also - I wouldn't, but who would actually know if someone on the SOR did go butlins or somewhere?

Thanks!

As said above police need to be notified if staying over 7 nights, but we told the police out of courtesy (means also to prevent if they do any surprise visits). But tbh since the whole Scotland fiasco (that was 5 nights) we won't be bothering to let the police know and keep our hols to less than 7 nights. We gave the police months of notice, no idea when they told the Scottish police, but the one week notice was not fair I thought.

In hindsight we should have checked how close the BnB was to children areas, but there are no restrictions and we were on holiday with people who don't know about the offence and conviction.
