He just lost his job. They said he wasn't performing well enough and that's why but tbh I think they found the article.

Depending on whether you wanted to fight it or not, if its performance related, there are usually set processes they should go through, giving him an opportunity to improve. ACAS would be able to give you more information.

He could appeal? If they are suggesting performance related what process have they followed? If they have failed on process alone he can claim unfair dismissal. Will depend how long been with company as this only kicks in after 2 years service

Thanks all ... He was literally only about 6 weeks in... He did say part of his probation (for his crime) said that maybe he could retrain... ? Anyone know if this is true?

My son was sentenced yesterday and because it appeared in local paper this morning,he spoke with his supervisor who seemed genuinally concerned for him and offered to speak with management.
This afternoon he was told he would be sacked immediately and there was nothing she could do !!
After two years of hell this is just to much..... How can they move on i feel so helpless

May I ask what charges were and if media were in court?
im sure they have to follow disciplinary procedures still ie, meeting, heating, outcome and give you time to prepare. Maybe check out unions advice. They should have just suspended him while they do this? I might be wrong though x
