Hello

we should hear back from the police in September (I know it will probably take longer!) my question is did people go with the lawyer they get given at the police station or pay for another one? My son is 20 and I just want to give him the best help he can get in this devastating situation. Thank you

He's already been interviewed and on bail. They are checking his devices and then will be charged. He had the duty solicitor. But js this enough? Should I pay for a good one? And how do you find a good one? Thank you

We used the duty solicitor he was great. We were going to stick with him even though we weren't entitled to legal aid. However oh then lost job so got legal aid anyway. Have a meeting with him and see what you think x

Hi, I'm a mum too and it's so very up and down insn't it, one minute I'm positive and the next I'm ready to give in. We're around 9 months in and have heard back from the police once to let us know "nothing further to report at the moment".

It is soul destroying seeing them go through the process of suicidal, to coping, to suicidal again, to starting to enjoy life again and cope with it as if it almost isn't there, to then again the suicidal thoughts of still being RUI and waiting, waiting.

It is pretty disgusting the length of time left waiting, these people rebuild their life after the first knock only to go through the bombshell again once court dates etc are set.

This forum helps me massively and I check in most days, I just wish the world and the ignorant people in it would wake up and see that most of these crimes aren't committed by "P" (thtat horrible word) but are actually commited by people with real mental issues, horrible pasts and low esteem xxx
