Initial Child Protection Conference.

I've had a text for SW to say that the conference was scheduled for next week. The message has completely floored me, it feels like the knock all over again. It feels like such a game, trying to maintain a family while also showing them that I acknowledge the severity of OH actions.
I have always prided myself on being a good mum and if anything can be over protective, now I have to prove to strangers that I will keep my children safe at all costs.

When the SW and police officer came to speak to the children a few days after the knock, the sw said she was carrying out a section 47 and said that she would be recommending a child protection plan at the ICPC. At the time I thought that was to be expected but now feel like she had made her mind up before even doing the section 47 investigation. The school have told me that they had no concerns prior to this, the police officer has said that there was no evidence that my children have been harmed and that my children are clearly happy and love their dad.
It's so.hard balancing showing that you are a protective factor, supporting your spouse and not letting SS run rough shot over you.

Hello,
Its easy for me to say as we are 2 years on from icpc. The fear of a cpp is actually alot worse than reality. Just remember that the 'take my children away' myth is just that a myth. A cpp and cin plan are similar you'll just see more of the social worker on a cp plan.
I'd go to the meeting with a pre prepared statement to read. They aren't pleasant BUT (and its a big BUT) the only thing the can do is put you on a plan. In my experience there is nothing to fear. I'd ask about what support they will offer and the purpose of any action.
You will be fine. You've already said that no other professionals have concerns. Take a look at family safety plans and prepare one. https://www.parentsprotect.co.uk/create-a-family-safety-plan.htm
