Prison contact frustrations

4 months in since my son's dad went to prison and we are still waiting to hear if they allow any contact. I supervised contact in the community for 15 months prior to this. The prison wrote first for assessment by Social Services. Social Services lost the referral ( by coincidence in one of my places of work). It was because I chased with phonecalls that this was discovered. The whole process of writing to Social Services had to start again. Finally, the Social Worker wrote her assessment recommending all levels of contact. After a lot more waiting I ring the prison for an update. They apparently contacted Probation for their recommendation 3 weeks previously and hadn't heard anything. I rang the Probation Officer. No one had contacted him. He then contactef the prison who sent/ ? resent the request, only because I chased it by phone again. The Probation Officer is now going to recommend all levels of contact once his manager, who is off sick, is back in work and can sign it off. So four months later and my child still cries because missed he his dad and I have to try and comfort him. And we wait. I am also waiting for a response to my complaint about my family's highly sensitive personal information being lost in a random council building. They are now outside their own procedural timescales of responding to my complaint and I have had to chase them to check they haven't lost that too and intend to speak to me one day at least. Just really hacked off with it all. Don't get me wrong, my husband/ ex is ultimately responsible but seen as he is in prison he is suffering the consequences anyway. And the prison really need to get their act together. This is getting in the way of my life because my tolerance for all the niggles at work is through the floor. I thought it would help to get it off my chest so thanks for baring with me.
It's soo frustrating whichever service we are dealing with, they make us jump through hoops and keep to the letter but are incapable of sticking to thier own procedures and timescales and well continues to be our problem/fault.
