Ahh thanks Maij, I think loosing your parent is a stark reality of the passing of time! - it somehow feels it's time to grow up, which sounds silly from someone in their 60s!

I feel relieved the suffering has now gone and dad is at peace. So very grateful he lived to a grand age and comforted he had a good life. Yes it's very hard supporting elderly relatives, you have my complete sympathies on that one Maij x

I wonder how many more things will happen in the next couple of years that my son could poss miss while in prison. He wasn't remarkably close to his grandad but I'm sure anything like this must be hard to bear while your locked away and not 'part of it'.

still life marches on as we intend to give my dad the best send off we possibly can!

`i am sorru for your loss, but this might be helpful, I too lost my mother when ly son was in prison, actually it was on the day i was suppose to visit him, I contacted the prsion to say i coudn't make it and they were really helpful, they asked me if i wanted the chaplin to tell him, but i said no as i wanted to tell him myself , so they got him to call me and he had the support from the chaplin and his counsellor in the weeks that followed, although he was not allowed to come to the funeral because of safeguarding , they did bring him to the parlour to pay his final respects, and he watched the fu enral virtually in the chapel with the chaplin beside him all the time, this helped my son a freat deal as he was very close to his Granny.I am sure you should be able to arrange something. He was home two months later and we waited till than to scatter her ashes.

Thankyou so very very much ladies xxxxxx

Upset - as there was no warm food on site yest (no explanation) the prisoners were given discusting army 'boil in the bag' sachets! My son said everyone was furious the officers were in agreement!

Ended up eating curry which was cooked by a guy on my sons wing using his kettle!!!!!' Bet he was in demand :)

Hi Smile

Hope you are ok x

That's so awful the food at it's best isn't great but to be given a boil in the bag of some sort is just wrong

It amazes me how they learn to cook food using a kettle

My son cooks pasta in his

At least buy them some sandwiches or something a bit more nourishing than a boil bag!

Xx
