That's great news.

These small things mean so much to our people inside. I really hope it helps him get some support and direction.

Upset Mum that's great news he has a job, initially my person was reluctant (because the job is extremely boring) but now finds it really useful, unfortunately because of staff shortages my person hasn't worked for almost 2 weeks. I guess people will always need food, so hopefully that means your son will always have work. I'm told its a job that everyone wants (well at least at the prison he's in) as the 2 other jobs are very dull.

I'm sorry to hear he is struggling, hopefully the MH app is processed quickly.

I think work really helps, as you say. So much time on their hands for thinking.

My person isn't great, he's got Covid, because of staff shortages, he's not worked for two weeks and only had domestics once in the last 4 - 5 weeks so the room is filthy and so he's only leaving the cell for 35 - 45 min a day got yard time (when that happens). His personal and financial affairs aren't going great on the outside either. He's trying hard to be positive and focus on what he can control but I can tell he's finding it increasingly difficult. To add a blow, because he's got Covid the visit we'd been holding out for will be cancelled and I'd combined that with a holiday so I could see him 2 weeks in a row (he's 3 hours away). So I'm feeling a bit blue too :( I'll feel better tomorrow.

Ahh SAL

It's so hard to keep there spirit up and to be restricted on just been outside does not help

I know they are in prison but surly some basic human rights, it's just unfair

My Son's prison is just under 2 and a half hours away but we get a 2 hrs visit, we are going this Sat

I have sorted my sons finances out thankfully he left his phone home so gave me his passwords etc he diddnt owe a lot but I pay them so he dosent fall behind and he was still living at home when arrested

We have a long way to go until he is out but the worry is there as to what, where and how he will be

I hope your person can get back to some sort of routine just for his own sanity

Hugs to you to xx

Morning ladies - sorry Upset I deleted by mistake.

sadly I lost my dad and been having a few issues - so shit going on :(

im sorry your boy is going through it, it's so difficult as it hurts SO much the thought of them perhaps not coping and you carnt even give them a random hug!

He's done well to secure a job so soon & his education sorted? My son says work in the food area is a bonus, getting 'extras' it seems. Everything as SAL says is so hit and miss, usually an excuse being staff shortages and it's very cruel I find when they have only a short time out. App as a cat c your door should be open??

He took the news well about his grandad but I had given him lots of warning in preparation. X

you take care Upset, SAL& Newlady.....

You don't particularly have many 'positives' in this journey unfortunately.
