To the mums
I am at a loss
I thought after sentancing and my son been moved to an SO prison it would be better
But he is struggling so much with his Mental health
He has given up, dosent see what we do
He does not want to be here
He does not see a future
He has lost his friends,
I hate this journey
I feel like I am grieving but he is still here but honestly it is just a matter of time
And I cant do anything x

I think there's a few of us here who feel we are clinging on with our finger tips. I'm so sorry that you're feeling so sad tonight.
I fear for my sons life everyday.
It must be so hard not to be next to him and holding him whilst you know he feels this way. The pain and heartache is unbearable.
You're a great mum and you're doing everything possible to support your son x x x

My dear friend Upset - my heart aches for you - I totally understand how you are feeling. You son is obviously very open with his feelings while I think my boy tends to be upbeat and only occasionally speaks about his emotions.
I think it must hit them like a bombshell this is their life for a long time + coming to terms with it..... I know they are surrounded by 'listeners' but bless him, might not feel comfortable with this.....
You see your son - so he has that to look forward to. All I can offer is just to do what you doing, i go over the top with praise & how proud I feel if he achieves anything. I send you a big massive cuddle - keep strong my lovely, we WILL get through this......

He has an appointment with the MH team on Weds morning and will likely go back on antidepressants
It's just a constant worry, he is still here and we are holding on for now xx

Reading your post is upsetting.
I am so sorry to hear that your son is struggling with his mental health. Is he having support, counselling and therapy in prison. Is he on medication for his mental health?. if you are concerned that he may have suicidal thoughts, have you raised this with the prison staff at a higher level in writing .
He must have help to lift him out of these negative thoughts and feelings. Otherwise he will spiral.
I can't imagine how it must feel in your position can you visit hom more often or are there testrictions ? I am wishing your son and you all the very best. How much longer in prison does he have .

Thank you for your kind words, he is currently talking to the MH people so hopefully they can help him
He has several years to go as yet unfortunately and I totally understand how he feels like this but I need him to keep strong and we can get through this xx

Just got off the video call, he had an hour with the support team they are going to give him 6 sessions to try to improve his mindset but they have said it will take several weeks as a waiting list (no surprise there) he gets his antidepressants tomorrow so hopefully they will take the edge of it in a couple of weeks
Other than that it's just getting through each day, we have a visit Saturday so will get some hugs in xx
