Hi, please can anyone help? Magistrates today and solicitor was trying for distubution of 1b and 1c to be dropped. Prosecution agreed should be as it even said in their own report can't confirm it. Anyway after hour and half they had not been able to get a response from someone higher up who was requured to confirm and change the paperwork.

My h was then told he had to go in and enter a no plea. He's now got a date for plea at crown Court and the solicitor will try and get it dropped in the meantime. He then been told after this plea he will need to go crown again for the sentencing.

I'm so confused and worried that this will now go against my husband and so worried its crown twice n more chance of media.

To top it all media were there today also but hoping nothing is reported as it was a no plea.

Anyone any experience or help on any of the above?

Hi NMS,

My hubby did a no plea at magistrates and then plead guilty at crown and was all sorted there, my husbands solicitor said they do that so the solicitor will represent them because if they plead guilty then they ( solicitors may not support at crown ) I don't no how true this is but its wat he told us xx

Thank you both, I was so worried it would go against him.

His solicitor is going to write an official report/challenge now on the distribution and h has a call with his barrister in a few weeks time, when hopefully we will know if successfully dropped and the plea to submit if not.

Just another q if I can, will he get sentencing at the next crown at all or literally just plea and then another date has to be set?

H nearly had a heart attack at his hearing today the prosecution were trying to say that the starting sentence was 6yrs custodial for making but rightly so his solicitor stood up straight away and explained what making actually meant, scary that professional solicitors are getting this incorrect.

So tomorrow is crown court for the plea. The distribution has still not been dropped by the prosecution. Solicitor told them we will go not guilty and the prosecution said yeah you're right we should drop it, this was Wednesday night but had no confirmation. So worried its still on the charges.

I was not going to go, but h had asked me to be there, I have agreed but said I can't go into the hearing as I will never be able to unhear the evidence (as much as I know the categories and my mind has probably thought the worst - I just don't want to hear it out loud) I am wrong for feeling this way?

Any tips please?

I've not stopped crying all weekend nosing it's probably our last "normal" weekend before everything changes, I then become married n living with a person on the sor.

Also (sorry for the long post) will ss now be back in touch? We were signed off end of Feb, h back home unsupervised overnights.

Thank you for reading

Hey NMS,

If he pleads not guilty because it doesn't get dropped in time it doesn't mean he will definitely have to go for a trial, cases are continuously reviewed pending trial and can be dropped - obviously not ideal but it still gives some hope.

I never went to either court appearances for my partner but he said it wasn't bad at all and actually the judge was very nice to him at crown and gave some stern words to the prosecution for not having their crap together - like you the prosecution said they will struggle to attribute the evidence to my partner. I think not much is said and it's quite quick for plea. There should be no media as it's very rare not guilty pleas are reported on for things like this. Try not to worry. Sending love and hugs xx

Thank you baffled.

The prosecution dropped the distribution 5 mins before he was called.

Sentencing mid Dec next.
