So it's been nearly 14 months from start to finish and two days ago my son got 18 months jail. He had 6 charges of iioc across the categories including 2 of distribution. Less than 1000 in total but 1 is 1 too many. He was sharing online in some app group apparently. I didn't attend court as I just didn't feel able to so I've read the details online on social media as he never had the common decency to tell me the details or give the police permission to do it. It's apparently been going on for years. I'm shocked, hurt and so bloody angry. I've tried my best to support him as he's my son at the end of the day but I have lost all faith and trust in him. Even the day of court he lied to me saying probation and solicitor said to expect suspended sentence but I've since found out he was warned it would be immediate custody. He took nothing with him and drove to court and showed up nearly an hour late. My guess is he was probably contemplating doing a runner then thought better of it. Now I've got to sort out all the crap here as he only has the clothes he's stood up in and his car is parked at the court and no one knows where the keys are so it will probably get towed. His own fault if it does. Who in their right mind does that! I don't know when I'll be able to visit him or if he has been given a change of clothes or even a toothbrush. Anyone who's person went to jail have any advice?
