Hiya ladies.

So hubby is gonna start his Community Service soon. He has 240 hours to do. Something like 70 hours at home on computer the rest wherever.

Q. Has anybody's other halves been on community service and done what kind of jobs.

Did they get any hassle from others on the course ie asking em why they are here etc or was it a case of heads down and get on with it.

Thank you xx

My OH enjoyed his community service. He completed it in as quickly as possible doing the max number of hours per week to get it out of the way. It was painting over qraffiti, which was amusing as over a three week period he painted over that three times. Clearing cemetery's ( The church ladies supplied them with biscuits even though they knew they were on community service) and working on community rugby pitches. But it was this summer so nice weather. The people running my OH one were nice people according to him.

Hope this helps

Hello Xxx

Though my OH was in the media his photo was not in the paper. It helped he did the community all over and as it turned out not in his local area. Though they had hi vis jackets on, they do not have their names on them. There was one man who lived close by where they were working as it was only for a short time the supervisor let him sit it out so that no one recognised him. Hope this helps.

Hi Chelsea! It's nice to hear from you.

My hubby has 120 hours to do in total. He had his first work session this last Sunday.

He will be working at a local centre for people with learning disabilities. It's closed on weekends so that's when the work takes place. They have lots of jobs there. Gardening, painting, cleaning ect. There is lots to do and he will be going there every Sunday until his hours are up.

Hubby said that everyone was friendly but also mainly kept to themselves apart from a little chit chat. No one wants to talk about why they are there. And hubby has an answer ready if they do ask (fraud). But he doesn't think anyone will. The supervisor is really nice too he said. They also got a total of 1.5 hour break. Left an hour early too but still all counts to a full 8 hours completed.

Hubby actually got a lot out of it. He said it feels good to be putting something back into the world and is helping him feel better about what he has done.
