Hey guys,

So my partner got called on Wednesday last week by his solicitor to say he has his pre-trial hearing on Tuesday. He was absolutely livid because he has been emailing his solicitors for the last 3 months chasing up the defence statement they were meant to have submitted but heard nothing back so he was livid that he hasn't known about it to book time off work and also... has the defence statement been submitted?! If so, he hasn't checked it before it has! We are currently devising a small statement for my partner to address the judge if they do a poor job of representing him tomorrow as they have actually been negligent in their duty of care at this point and potentially infringed on his human rights to a fair trial (probably not recommended but it will be worded properly & I've explained the absolute importance of addressing the judge correctly and in an almost worshipping manner).

What will actually happen at the pre-trial hearing? He didn't tell me last week, bless him, because I'm actually back at Uni doing a Masters (as well as working full time - think I needed a distraction from all this) and had an assignment which I was stressed to my eyeballs with. I'm so angry that his solicitors have been so rubbish and that we're all so powerless in this situation. I'm going to be spending my Sunday researching stuff and getting him ready for tomorrow.

At least there seems to be some progress, my partner said he's not even bothered anymore he just wants whatever the outcome is, to happen. To be honest, I feel the same too. I'm strong enough to battle whatever comes my way.

We have plea heating tommarow via zoom, I know your trail is different but tgars terrible the way it was handled. We are really lucky to have a good barrister who is fighting tooth and nail for him. Are you allowed to change barristers b4 trail? Was there not even a phone call explaining exactly what will happen tommarow and how he should respond? This isn't bloody right on either of you just be careful xx

Hi Newlady,

Hope your hearing goes as well as possible tomorrow! It must make it slightly easier (although none of this is easy!) knowing you have someone who is actually doing what they're meant to. We would have to put a request in to change representation which we started shopping around for but the majority of people I spoke with seem equally as rubbish & the nature of the case seems to incur judgement, I think it'd be easier to just say he did it as nobody seems to believe you're innocent!!! The phonecall probably was meant to be preparing him but he was peeved at the service he received he was too interested in finding out why they've only just contacted him now, what's gone on with the defence statement and what have they been telling the CPS to delay the defence statement all this time - they said they would call him over the weekend which they tried but he missed it so he's tried calling back. It's just an absolute joke! We will have to see how they act in court and if it's not good enough then my partner will have to alert the judge to what's been happening, I don't see any other option. They've breached the code of conduct set by the Solicitors Regulation Authority on at least three points and it's completely unacceptable. We were just about to proceed with a complaint to the Legal Ombudsman before they called and notified him of the hearing, he did get told about it at his last hearing but assumed because the defence statement hadn't been actioned and he hadn't heard from them that it would've been pushed back. They're absolute imbeciles! We'll see what happens but at this point we're both fed up and no f's will be given about pulling out every stop to right every wrong, we shouldn't even be here! The prosecution said at the last hearing they have problems attributing the evidence to him - IN A POLICE DECOY CASE, maybe that's because it's not him you thick f%^$s! Sorry, I'm just venting now but between my case, Lee's case and the other cases you see on here where the authorities seem to be working backwards it's just absolutely exasperating. Xx

Rant away. They gave my person wrong charges last Nov. Didn't hear from them I til his barrister went to ombudsman and pushed them I to it.one charge changed as we challenged it. Only got evidence 3 weeks ago, pkys other stuff behind the scenes going on. Barrister says she's gonna have a fieldday with the uncompadence. Also he was treated badly after his second suicide attempt by mental health nurse. We are gunning for him too, process akready started. I'm fight with you! You go girl! Hope you get the outcome he deserves or at least a fair trail with decent representation

They still haven't called him back! I'm just putting a statement together. What does the section 6 relate to please Lee? Xx
