Hi all,

Just a quick question, how long did anyone have to wait for the forensic information from their electronic devices take to come back? I was told 3 months but it's been over 4 months now. I'm getting jittery because I'm expecting them to contact me at any time. I phoned the police woman who is dealing with it and she said there is a back log so no information to tell me yet. My daughter is on his phone so I want to know if photos of her have been shared etc!
I know it's never a definite time scale but knowing some of your time scales will help me.

Thank you x

Almost 18 months in and one device has not been looked at.

Hi Siouxsie,

It's extremely nerve wrecking awaiting the forensics so I do sympathise with you. It really does depend. It can be anywhere from 3 months up to 2 years+. Mine was about 7 months. I hope you get an update soon and hope they can confirm no images of your daughter have been shared.

lots of love

Thank you all for your replies, sorry I've taken so long to reply back. Looks like I have a long wait. I'm trying to keep busy so I'm not dwelling on it....easier said than done as I expect you all know too well! Xxx

Hi, my partner had his PC and some memory cards etc returned within about 5-6 weeks if I remember rightly (the knock was July 2020, and it was mid-Sept I think he got the call to say he could collect his PC and bits).

He has just this afternoon had a call to say they've gone through his phone, so we're 27 months on from when it was seized. We had no updates throughout and when he rang to ask about it was always told "it's still sealed" so he gave up chasing it.

If it helps we're in the Home Counties (Herts). I know some areas take much longer and some are a lot faster, there doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason to it at all, just depends how much they have to get through and how severe the case is I suppose.

Hopefully you won't be waiting as long as we were!
